It’s the perfect way to get to know Florence, one bite at a time. Taste breads, cheeses, meats, crostini, wine, sweets, balsamic vinegars, olive oils and seasonal specialties. Explore Florence. Stroll along the river or visit the Boboli gardens. Visit the Uffizi gallery, the Florence Duomo or the Jewish synagogue. If you are in for some retail therapy, there are amazing high end designer and local Italian stores to shop in.

6:30-7:30pm Aperitivo

One of my favorite Italian tradition is the aperitivo, a drink/light meal that takes place at the end of the workday as a kind of warm up to dinner. We’ll meet up and enjoy one in the piazza.

8pm Dinner

You are going to go crazy for this delicious al a carte dinner at one of Florence’s most celebrated restaurants overlooking the gorgeous river. Enjoy all the local Tuscan specials and if you are a meat lover this is the perfect place to order Bistecca alla Fiorentina.

LUCCA

Situated beside the Serchio River in northwestern Tuscany, Lucca is perhaps best known for its well-preserved city walls. They form a perfect ring around the Renaissance-era center. Enjoy a walk or bike ride, or grab dinner on this leafy two-and-a-half-mile path with views across green fields and terra-cotta rooftops.

Lucca is home to over 1000 restaurants, cafes and gelaterias. Sip on an spritz in Piazza dell' Anfiteatro, take in the views of the magnificent Romanesque Church of San Michele or climb one of the many towers. You can also grab an espresso and wander around the city. If you are into shopping you’ll find amazing leather, high fashion, souvenirs and food items in the many designer stores and boutiques.

Music is central in this city, the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini. In summer, melodies waft through the town from Piazza Napoleone, which hosts the Lucca Summer Festival, an annual outdoor concert series, now in it’s 22nd year.

This summer’s edition, features Paul Mc Cartny, Cat Stevens, Celine Dion, Ben Harper, Liam Gallagher, Paolo Conte and Lynyrd Skynyrd.Past artists include Sting, Elton John, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, James Brown, David Bowie, Green Day, Seal, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Mackelmore and many more.

Close by the villa is a gorgeous 4-mile trail along the riverbed and waterfall. Take a quite stroll or head out for a run under the lush canopy of trees brimming with wildflowers and butterflies.

EXPLORING TUSCANY

Lucca is located 1 hour from Florence, 20 minutes from Pisa and a 15-minute train ride from the ocean (Forte di Marmi and Via Reggio). It is 70 minutes from Portofino and 50 minutes from the Cinque Terre.
